President Weah has suspended Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation Managing Director, Duannah Kamara and Deputy for finance, Sensee Morris over corruption allegation; orders immediate audit.
According to the Executive Website, President George Weah has with immediate effect suspended Duannah A. Kamara and Sensee J. Morris, Managing Director and Deputy Managing Director for Finance of the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) respectively.
The Liberian leader took the decision on Thursday, June 10, 2021 following reports of disturbing news of alleged corruption at the Liberia Water and Sewer Cooperation, LWSC. Recently, a leaked audio revealed that Director Kamara missed appropriated 99 gallons gasoline donated to the entity by World Bank for the operation of national Water plant. The two officials of Government have been involved with accusation and counter accusation of corruption allegations.
President Weah, according to a Press release on the Executive Mansion Website and social media page states that Managing Director Duannah Kamara and his deputy Sensee Morris shall remain suspended pending a full scale investigation.
Meanwhile, President Weah has asked the General Auditing Commission (GAC) to conduct an immediate investigative audit and report to him within 30 days.
Meanwhile, LWSC’s Deputy Managing Director for Administration will act as interim head of the entity in consultation with the Chairman of the Board.
