– On Twelve Government Institutions  

Monrovia,– The House of Representatives has endorsed General Auditing Commission (GAC) audit reports covering twelve government institutions after the Joint Committee on Public Accounts, Expenditure and Audit completed its scrutiny and validation process.  

According to a release from the House Press and Public Affairs Bureau, the full plenary approved the reports during its 13th Day Sitting of the 2nd Quarter of the 2nd Session of the 55th Legislature on Thursday, June 26.  

The endorsed reports include a compliance audit of the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) for the period ending June 30, 2021, a financial statements audit of the Ivory Coast, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Rural Electrification (CLSG-RE) project covering June 30, 2021 to December 31, 2022, and a compliance audit of the Liberia Opportunities Industrialization Center (LOIC) for the fiscal years ending June 30, 2019 through July 31, 2021.  

Additional reports approved by the House include the Auditor General’s findings on the National Disaster Management Agency’s operations from July 2019 to June 30, 2021, along with regulations governing river sand mining activities in Liberia between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2021, among other audit documents.  

The legislative action formalizes the House’s acceptance of these audit findings and typically precedes further parliamentary oversight actions regarding the examined institutions.
