MONROVIA, Liberia – With preparations in high gear, anticipation is mounting for Amplifying Rights Network and its partners’ Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Conference 2025, slated to be one of the most substantial and inclusive gatherings on public health and human rights in Liberia’s recent history.

Under the theme, “Breaking The Barriers: Advancing SRHR For All,” the conference will begin on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, and climax on the 10th. It is designed to move beyond dialogue and secure tangible commitments to improve health outcomes across the nation.

Organized by the Amplifying Rights Network in collaboration with key partners, the event will convene a diverse coalition of government representatives, health professionals, youth leaders, civil society actors, and international development partners. In a departure from previous years, the conference will extend its reach beyond Monrovia by establishing five regional satellite hubs in Buchanan (Grand Bassa), Gbarnga (Bong), Ganta (Nimba), Zwedru (Grand Gedeh), and Tubmanburg (Bomi) Counties, ensuring nationwide participation.

“The SRHR Conference 2025 is not just about dialogue—it’s about action,” stated Atty. Facia B. Harris, Chair of the Amplifying Rights Network. “We are creating a platform for transformative commitments that will shape a healthier future for everyone.”

The conference has set forth three core objectives:

  1. To assess the current state of SRHR in Liberia, with a specific focus on adolescents, rural communities, and other marginalized populations.
  2. To identify persistent gaps in service delivery, policy implementation, and public health law.
  3. To propose actionable, rights-based strategies to improve access and equity in SRHR services for all Liberians.

The agenda promises a dynamic blend of high-level discussions and practical workshops. Attendees can expect keynote speeches from distinguished global advocates, including Hon. Dazon Dixon Diallo, founder of SisterLove, Inc., and Nobel Peace Laureate Leymah Gbowee of the Gbowee Foundation Africa.

The program will feature:

  • Plenary sessions and technical workshops on critical topics such as contraception, safe abortion, combating gender-based violence, health systems strengthening, and digital innovations in SRHR.
  • Interactive panel discussions and breakout groups tailored for community practitioners, youth advocates, and SRHR experts.
  • Youth-led sessions specifically designed to amplify the voices of young people in SRHR decision-making.
  • Exhibitions and networking opportunities for non-profits, research institutions, and technology providers.
  • Formal commitment sessions where stakeholders will pledge concrete measures to advance SRHR outcomes.

Pre-conference activities, including youth dialogues, media engagements, and stakeholder roundtables, have already laid the groundwork for what organizers promise will be a highly impactful event.

By centering the voices of communities—particularly youth, women, and persons with disabilities—the SRHR Conference 2025 aims to be a landmark milestone in national advocacy, ensuring that the pursuit of health, dignity, and rights leaves no one behind in Liberia.
