NIMBA COUNTY, Liberia – A young woman’s life was tragically cut short in a mysterious death in Bank Quarter, Yekepa City, Nimba County. 

On October 9, 2025, the lifeless body of Ronell Lebana Gewh was discovered in her partner’s room. The cause of death remains unknown.

According to reports, Ronell had recently relocated from Monrovia to Yekepa and was reportedly engaging in sex work.  She was last seen at “Place to Be,” an entertainment spot, where she met the man who took her home. 

The suspect, currently in police custody, claims Ronell appeared to be under the influence of pills and remained motionless throughout the night. 

He allegedly left her in that state for days without seeking help until neighbors alerted by a foul odor discovered her body.

The Liberia National Police, Yekepa Depot, has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Ronell’s death.  The case is ongoing, with police awaiting the results of a forensic examination to determine the cause of death. The suspect remains in custody pending further investigation.
