The Office of the First Lady of the Republic of Liberia has strongly refuted what it describes as false, misleading, and scandalous information circulating on social media and informal platforms, including the Lott Carey Alumni chat room, allegedly linking Her Excellency Madam Kartumu Yarta Boakai to a company named “Fidelity Investment.”
In a statement issued on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, the Office clarified that claims suggesting the First Lady is a shareholder in a company identified as “Fidelity Investment,” allegedly owned by FMR LLC and headquartered in Boston, are entirely fabricated and malicious.
“The Office states clearly, categorically, and without equivocation that this information is false,” the statement said. “At no time has the First Lady been involved with, invested in, discussed, or held any real or imagined shareholding in any company by the name ‘Fidelity Investment’ or any related entity.”
According to the Office, assertions regarding the existence of a shareholding certificate or any financial interest attributed to Madam Boakai are deliberate fabrications intended to mislead the public.
The Office of the First Lady condemned the actions of individuals it described as unscrupulous scammers who are allegedly operating under the pretense of being informants or affiliates of the Office. It noted that such conduct is unethical and represents a calculated attempt to spread misinformation.
The public has been urged to exercise caution, reject unverified claims, and refrain from amplifying false information. For accurate and official updates, the Office advised citizens to rely solely on verified channels, including the Media and Communications Section of the Office of the First Lady at the Executive Mansion.
The release further emphasized that all authentic statements, updates, and activities of the First Lady are published exclusively on its official Facebook page, First Lady of the Republic of Liberia, warning that information from other sources should be treated as unofficial and unreliable.
The statement concluded by noting that the Office of the First Lady reserves the right to take appropriate action against any individuals or entities found to be deliberately spreading false and defamatory information.
