-LDEA Arrests Nigerian National

PLEEBO CITY, Maryland County – In a significant interdiction, the Maryland County Detachment of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) arrested a 47-year-old Nigerian national with a substantial haul of narcotics during a routine patrol last Friday.

The arrest occurred on January 30, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m. in Pleebo City. Suspect Uche Okojis, a resident of the city, was apprehended and found to be in possession of a large quantity of illicit drugs.

The seized narcotics included 97.7 grams of mixed heroin, 86.5 grams of raw heroin, 39.0 grams of raw cocaine, 67.2 grams of precursor substances, and one parcel of marijuana. The LDEA estimates the total street value of the drugs to be US$16,594, equivalent to LRD 3,152,860.

“Suspect Okojis is currently undergoing investigation and will be forwarded to the Pleebo City Magisterial Court for prosecution,” stated G. Olando Demey, Chief of the LDEA’s Public Relations Department. He emphasized that possession of a narcotic substance is a non-bailable offense under Liberian law.
