-Renews Local Commissioner Nomination

MONROVIA, Liberia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has announced a key appointment to advance Liberia’s rural electrification goals while moving to ensure continuity in local governance. The President has named engineer Lincoln Togba Kollie, Jr. to the Board of the Rural Renewable Energy Agency (RREA) and renominated Benjamin Bear as Commissioner of the Beawor Administrative District in Rivercess County.
According to a release from the Executive Mansion on Tuesday, Mr. Kollie’s appointment to the RREA Board aligns with the agency’s 2015 founding act. He fills the vacancy left by the late civil engineer Yayah Sow.
Mr. Kollie brings over a decade of professional experience in engineering and field services to the role, a background deemed critical for the RREA’s mission of expanding sustainable energy access in rural communities across Liberia.
In a separate action, President Boakai formally renominated Mr. Benjamin Bear to continue serving as Commissioner for the Beawor Administrative District, located within the Yarnee Statutory District of Rivercess County. The renomination signals an intent to maintain stability and experienced leadership in local administration.
President Boakai has urged the Honorable Liberian Senate to accord both nominations—where applicable under confirmation procedures—timely consideration. The President emphasized that these moves are in the national interest, aimed at “strengthening governance, advancing rural electrification, and improving local administration and service delivery.”
