Monrovia, Liberia – The Liberia National Police (LNP) has launched an investigation into a group calling itself the “National Fula Security of Liberia” after a video featuring individuals in what appear to be security uniforms began circulating widely on Facebook.

In an official statement released on Monday, the LNP moved to clarify its position and allay public concerns, stating unequivocally that it has no affiliation with the mysterious group.

The Police noted that the video, which has sparked discussions on social media, marks the first instance the institution has become aware of the group’s existence. “The LNP wishes to clarify that at no time has the institution held meetings with this group, nor does the LNP recognize or have knowledge of its existence prior to the appearance of this video on the social media,” the statement read.

Authorities have confirmed that the matter has been referred to the Public Safety Division of the Ministry of Justice, which is currently reviewing the footage and the group’s origins. The LNP has pledged to keep the public informed and will provide updates as the discussions and investigations progress.

In the meantime, the Police are urging the public to remain calm and vigilant. Citizens are encouraged to continue cooperating with official security forces by reporting any suspicious activities that could threaten community safety and national security.
