MONROVIA โ The Monrovia City Court has ordered the arrest of Moses H. Abossouhe, chief executive officer of St. Moses Funeral Parlor, and two others. They are accused of orchestrating the unlawful exhumation and reburial of a deceased woman, according to court documents filed Monday.
Stipendiary Magistrate L. Ben Barco issued writs following a criminal complaint brought by private prosecutor Euphemia Thompson Wisner through the Republic of Liberia. The writs name Abossouhe and co-defendants Stanley Y. Roberts and Jackie Greene in connection with the alleged illegal disinterment of the remains of the late Pinky Greene.
Court records indicate that Pinky Greene died on January 1, 2026, and was buried on January 31, 2026. Prosecutors allege that on February 25, 2026, her grave was opened at a cemetery in Johnsonville without authorization, after which her body was removed and transported to Bomi County for reburial at a gravesite owned and operated by Abossouhe.
Authorities charge that the defendants acted intentionally and without legal sanction in violation of Section 18.12 of Liberia’s New Penal Law, which prohibits abuse of a corpse. Prosecutors further allege that the unlawful disinterment was executed through a conspiracy among the accused.
The defendants face charges of abuse of a corpse, criminal facilitation, and criminal conspiracy. The court has directed law enforcement, including Capt. Charles Bloyueloh of the Magistrate Police, to apprehend the defendants and bring them before the Monrovia City Court to answer the charges.
In a separate writ dated February 26, 2026, defendant Jackie Greene faces additional charges of misapplication of entrusted property and theft of property in connection with the same incident. Prosecutors allege Greene unlawfully removed the body of her late aunt and deposited it at St. Moses Funeral Parlor without proper authorization, further violating the penal code.
