As Womenvoices celebrates its 15th anniversary, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the remarkable women of Liberia and to all marginalized communities. I reaffirm my commitment to giving them a platform and call on those who have the means to support the paper so it can continue fulfilling its mission. I also express deep appreciation to the few loyal supporters who have stood with Womenvoices over the years. Your encouragement, partnership, and belief in this vision have helped keep the newspaper alive. I am equally grateful to the editorial staff and reporters whose dedication continues to sustain this work. Above all, I thank God for the strength and courage to continue the job I have devoted myself to for these fifteen years.

Tuesday, March 10, 2026 marks the 15th Anniversary of the Womenvoices Newspaper. For fifteen years, Womenvoices has served as a platform for women and other groups whose voices are too often unheard. Each edition highlights the achievements of women across Liberia and beyond, consistently featuring their stories and images, and permanently honoring former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf as a symbol of women’s progress.

Despite these long‑standing efforts to promote and uplift women, I continue to face enormous challenges in keeping the newspaper on the newsstands. The daily production cost is high and often difficult to meet in an economy that is generally not media‑friendly. Raising salaries for my dedicated staff and employees is another constant struggle, especially in a business environment where access to advertising, partnerships, and sustainable revenue is limited. Many women, including those in leadership, often show interest only when they or their partners are being featured. Some even choose to support newspapers that do not prioritize women’s stories, gender issues, or equality. Women in politics, in particular, have been known to turn their backs on the publication while in power, only to seek its support once they are out.

I want to make it clear that I am not seeking special treatment. I am simply looking for fair business opportunities that can help sustain the work of the only female newspaper publisher in Liberia. My goal is to continue amplifying the voices of women and underserved communities, but I cannot do it alone. Continued support is essential for Womenvoices to survive, grow, and keep telling the stories that matter.

As we mark this important milestone, my sincere wish is that the 15th anniversary of Womenvoices will bring more blessings, renewed encouragement, and the strong support needed to continue this vital mission.
