-Condemns Incitement Over Tengeeh’s Death

‎A renowned Liberian citizen Anthony Cole has called on both Liberians and Ghanaians to unite in the pursuit of justice for the deceased Liberian citizen, while condemning any incitement to violence.

‎Speaking to reporters in Paynesville City during the weekend, the former administrator of the Zinneh estate emphasized the long-standing relationship between Liberia and Ghana, highlighting the responsibility of both nations to protect their citizens. Cole underscored the urgent need for a thorough investigation into the death of Austin Tengeeh, whose passing in Ghana has raised significant concerns among the Liberian community.

‎Cole’s said his plea extends beyond this single incident, aiming to draw attention to broader issues of citizen protection and accountability. He stressed that the historical bonds of friendship and cooperation between Liberia and Ghana should obligate Ghana to ensure the safety and fair treatment of all Liberians.

‎Cole emphasized that Liberians and Ghanaians should desist from making statements that will incite violence and look to the authorities from both countries to work together in seeking justice; no one deserves to die in another country.

‎On March 2, 2026, police in Ghana investigated the death of a 26-year-old Liberian national, Austin Tengeeh, following an alleged mob assault at Lashibi near Sakumono in the Greater Accra Region.

‎According to a press release issued on March 2, 2026, by the Ghana Police Service, the incident occurred on Friday, February 27, 2026, at an apartment complex where the deceased had reportedly gone to visit his brother in the company of his girlfriend.

‎Preliminary findings indicate that Tengeeh was attacked by some residents and members of the public after the apartment’s caretaker reportedly raised an alarm, accusing him of being a thief.

‎Police say a patrol team responding to a distress call arrived promptly at the scene, rescued the victim, and rushed him to the Sakumono Community Hospital for emergency treatment. However, he was pronounced dead on arrival by medical personnel.
