River Gee County | | Local Authorities in River Gee County have officially clarified the employment status of Christian Poka, stating that he was never a recognized staff member of the county’s local administration.
The clarification was issued by J. Nyantee Wah, Human Resource Officer of the Ministry of Local Government in River Gee County, through the County Personnel Analyst’s Office.
The statement directly contradicts widespread public belief that Poka held an official position within the administration.
According to the HR office, Poka “was not gainfully employed with the Ministry of Local Government in River Gee County, least to mention the Office of the County Superintendent,” emphasizing that he had no formal ties to the county’s governance structure.
Officials explained that Poka’s association with the County Superintendent was strictly informal, describing it as a personal “father-and-son” relationship rather than any form of professional appointment or contractual engagement.
However, due to the “father-and-son” relationship between Poka and the superintendent, he was one of those supporters who always propagated his good works and defended him whenever critics tried to tarnish his reputation. That did not in any way, made him the PRO in the superintendent’s office because such a position doesn’t exist.
The HR office firmly dismissed, noting that no such position exists within the county’s approved administrative framework or payroll system.
“All duly recognized employees of the Ministry of Local Government in River Gee County are fully documented and operate under the supervision of both the County Superintendent and the Human Resource Department,” the statement added.
The clarification follows reports of Poka’s resignation, in which he identified himself as PRO attached to the Superintendent’s Office further fueling public confusion about his status.
In the wake of the disclosure, questions have surfaced among residents regarding how long Poka functioned in the perceived role and when county authorities became aware of his activities.
Reports suggest his involvement may have been voluntary and carried out without formal authorization.
Despite the controversy, the Human Resource Office has reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and accountability, assuring the public that the matter has now been fully clarified and that the county administration continues to operate in line with established government procedures
