Monrovia, Liberia — The Ministry of Youth and Sports has announced a scholarship opportunity for one hundred motorcyclists who excelled in the Motor Vehicle Training Center (MVTC) entrance examination conducted in October 2025.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry, the beneficiaries emerged as top performers from the competitive test and have been selected to participate in the Skills for Work Accelerated Program (SWAP), an initiative aimed at equipping young people with practical and employable skills.

The Ministry has called on all qualified candidates to report to the MVTC campus to begin their registration process without delay. Registration for the program officially commenced on Monday, April 6, 2026, and is expected to run through Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Authorities indicated that the registration process will be conducted in accordance with specific trade disciplines.

In a significant policy shift, the Ministry disclosed that all material and uniform costs for the selected motorcyclists under the program will be fully covered, easing the financial burden on participants and ensuring greater access to vocational training opportunities.

“The Ministry remains committed to empowering young people through skills development and creating sustainable pathways for employment and self-reliance,” the statement emphasized.

The SWAP initiative is part of ongoing government efforts to address youth unemployment by providing technical and vocational education, particularly targeting informal sector workers such as commercial motorcyclists.
