-Reaffirms Strike Mandate
MONROVIA, Liberia — The leadership of the University of Liberia Faculty and Staff Association (ULFASA) has refuted social media reports suggesting that the University of Liberia (UL) Faculty Senate has decided to move classes online.
In a press statement released today, September 17, 2026, and signed by ULFASA Secretary General Eric T. S. Patten and ULSA Secretary General E. Martin Wreah, II, the association clarified that the General Assembly (GA) remains the sole authority on the matter.
“The ULFASA leadership reaffirms the decision of the General Assembly as the official position of ULFASA,” the statement read. The association dismissed contrary reports as a “callous attempt by unscrupulous individuals to use misinformation as a tool for selfish gains.”
The statement emphasized that the leadership remains resolute regarding the ongoing standoff. “The leadership of ULFASA assures all members that our demands remain active and our GA decision remains enforced,” the document stated.
The association is urging its members to disregard rumors and remain unified. “ULFASA members are urged to remain focused and listen to the leadership for information and directions,” the statement concluded.
