Monrovia, February 3, 2023: The Leadership of Reclaiming Liberia Beaches and Waterways (RLBW) West Point Chapter is calling on President Weah and the entire leadership of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) not to allow District 7 Representative Solomon George to contest on the party’s ticket in the 2023 General and Presidential Elections, which come on October 10.

The RLBW Leadership also disclosed that they are also drafting a resolution to declare Rep. George a national governmental bone because he has the intent to distort the operations of the current RLBW volunteer workers in the District.

According to the group what prompted their action towards their lawmaker is that during his appearance on Sky FM recently he announced that he has renamed the project to Temporary Employment for Community Youth (TECY) in the District.

In a press statement over the weekend, Maphenson Daweh, the Head of the West Point Chapter, RLBW disclosed that Rep. George not only said that but went as far as making disgusting and inflammatory remarks about the RLBW Project and how he singled handily maneuver the renaming of the project to TECY and that initial agreement was signed between the Government of Liberia and the RBW to give a first preference to the service provider is being thrown in the dust bin.

Daweh recalled that on March 16, 2021, the GOL, through the Ministry of Youth and Sports, entered into a memorandum of understanding with the RLBW regarding its eleven-month salary waver, as described in paragraph 3 of the MOU, whereas the government terminated the project to likely create a new one, which will consider the old workers of the service provider to meet the conditions and criteria set by the government for a new project.

Daweh stated that against this backdrop, the RLBW voluntary workers of the West Point Chapter are calling the attention of the government and the public to what they term a convoluted scheme concocted by Rep. George and his coordinator, Mamudu Haji Massaquoi.

He further mentioned that Rep. George also instructed his coordinator to gather partisans and community residents pretentiously under the guise of recruiting beach workers to distort the operations of the current volunteers and that he should brutalize anyone who confronts his actions.

“The RLBW wants to make it unequivocally clear that our voluntarism is not a product of some spontaneous combustion, rather, it has been systematically layout and processed through relevant lawmakers and institutions. “Hon. Dixon W. Sebo of District #16 is the forerunner and chief architect in consultation with Hon. Acarous M. Gray of District #8, Hon. Rev. Samuel Enders of District #6, Hon. Saah Foko of District #9, and Hon. Hassan Kiazolu of District #17 of the official reopening of the project, and with a clear vision to cut across all political spectrums to the extent that the Commissioner of Virginia, who is also the Coordinator of CDC District #17, Hon. Bedell Fahn, expressed his support when they made available 1250.00 USD and ten bags of rice to keep the ground stimulated,” he said.

Daweh asserted that Senator Darius Dillion and Senator Saah Joseph have also expressed their desire to fight along with Rep. Seboe to ensure that the project is reopened.

He emphasized that the project has also been endorsed by President Weah in the Borough of New Kru Town when he instructed Finance Minister Samuel Tweh to work with Rep. Seboe to increase the budget allocation during the official launch of the life jackets to the fishing community.

Meanwhile, Daweh said that the action carried on by their lawmaker is because he has failed miserably and there is empirical evidence that their District is thinking of bringing to the lamplight J. Darious Kollie, Deputy Minister of Land and Rails, Ministry of Transport or Mr. Gregory Artus Frank to replace his failed leadership.

“Why is Rep. George undermining his colleagues?” He is doing so because, after almost 12 years, he is just getting accustomed to the divide-and-rule method, so he wants to use it for his perverse amusement. “Rep. George must desist from his course of action or risk numerous unspecified citizens’ actions,” he said.

“Let it be known to Rep. George that we will not pay supplicants to him and his band of petty thieves.” “We will not genuflect to his zero-impact leadership, not even if he summons the Holy Scripture from Genesis to Revelation,” he noted.
