Monrovia, Liberia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has nominated Attorney Cornelia W. Kruah as Minister of Youth and Sports. The nomination, announced from the Executive Mansion, is now subject to confirmation by the Honorable Liberian Senate.

In a related strategic move, Cllr. Jerror Cole Bangalu, the former Minister of Youth and Sports, has been appointed as the new Executive Director of the Liberia Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission (LRRRC). This appointment is part of a broader initiative to expand and reposition the Commission.

President Boakai’s decision aims to align the LRRRC with emerging national, regional, and global migration dynamics. The repositioning is intended to strengthen Liberia’s response to cross-border movements, refugee management, returnee reintegration, and broader migration trends affecting the Mano River region and West Africa.

The President emphasized that Liberia faces pivotal challenges due to rising regional migration pressures and porous borders, requiring an institutional strategy that contributes to national security and migration management. He expressed full confidence that Cllr. Bangalu’s legal acumen and administrative experience will effectively guide the LRRRC in its enhanced role.

In another appointment, Honorable Jackson Paye has been named to the Board of Directors of the Liberia Civil Aviation Authority (LCAA).
