-Ambassador Yin Chengwu Highlights Progress During On-Site Visit

BONG COUNTY, Liberia – The China-assisted Bong Mine Project is advancing steadily, with progress in infrastructure and production development. This progress was the focal point of a working visit on Sunday, by the Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, H.E. Mr. Yin Chengwu, who inspected the site and underscored the project’s dual role in driving economic activity and fostering bilateral cooperation.
Ambassador Yin, accompanied by Counselor Zhang Yimin, was briefed in detail on the project’s current phase of implementation. He toured key operational areas, including the production lines and newly developed port facilities, seeing firsthand the tangible results of the collaboration.
The Ambassador emphasized that the project’s forward momentum is creating substantial local value. He specifically highlighted the creation of 560 jobs for Liberian nationals as a core achievement, demonstrating the partnership’s direct contribution to livelihoods and skills development in the community.
Ambassador Yin expressed the hope that the company would continue to prioritize workplace safety, adhere to laws and regulations, fulfill its social responsibilities, and steadily advance project implementation, thereby setting a model for win-win cooperation between China and Liberia.
