The Plenary of the House of Representatives has mandated its Committees on Judiciary, Good Governance, and Ways, Means & Finance to review a draft bill titled: โ€œAn Act Establishing the Probate Court Division of the Nine Judicial Circuit Court, and Providing for the Governance within Bong County, Republic of Liberia.โ€

The draft legislation, when enacted, seeks to create the Probate Court Division of the Nine Judicial Circuit Court in Bong County, thereby strengthening the countyโ€™s judicial structure and ensuring more efficient administration of justice.

The decision by Plenary followed the submission of the draft bill by Hon. James M. Kolleh, Representative of Bong County Electoral District #2, who appealed to the Speaker and his colleagues to give due consideration to the important nature of the proposed law.

In his communication, Hon. Kolleh emphasized that the establishment of a Probate Court Division within the existing judicial circuit would help enhance and strengthen the dispensation of justice, promote speedy trial of cases, and build public confidence in the judiciary. He further noted that the creation of this court would help reduce unnecessary delays in the adjudication of cases pending before the existing courts.

Following the reading of the draft bill, a motion was proffered and subsequently endorsed by Plenary, mandating the Joint Committee to review the proposed legislation and report back within two weeks with findings and recommendations for further legislative action.

At the same time, the House of Representatives (HOR) has officially inducted into office Nimba County Electoral District #5 Representative, Kortor S. Kwagrue. According to a release from the House Press Bureau, the induction ceremony took place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, during the Houseโ€™s regular sitting, following Representative Kwagrueโ€™s certification by the National Elections Commission (NEC).

Representative Kwagrue succeeds Senator Samuel Kogar, following his ascendancy to the Liberian Senate. Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon, in accordance with Rule 11 of the august body, administered the oath and charged the newly inducted Nimba County District #5 Lawmaker to uphold the Constitution and serve in the best interest of his constituents.

In his remarks, Representative Kortor S. Kwagrue expressed profound gratitude to the people of Nimba District #5 for the trust and confidence reposed in him, pledging to work diligently to advance their aspirations.
