-Rep. Bility Brands UP “Homing Coming” Rally

Nimba County, Liberia  – Musa H. Bility, Political Leader of the CMC and Representative of Nimba County District #7, issued a scathing critique of the ruling Unity Party today, branding their recent “Homecoming Rally” as an arrogant display of shallow politics that fails to address the nation’s pressing needs.

In a statement published on his official Facebook page, Rep. Bility characterized the event as a repetition of “what this country has suffered through for the last eight years”—lavish political spectacles funded by public resources with no tangible benefits for citizens.

“The arrogance of political influence and power on full display,” Bility wrote. “Going deep into national coffers, pulling out money, and splashing it on flashy programs that have absolutely no positive impact on the Liberian people.” The lawmaker accused the Unity Party of hosting events with “no substance – no real purpose – just a show of ego and a demonstration of artificial political strength through rented crowds and staged popularities.”

Bility specifically targeted a fundraising drive during the rally that reportedly collected millions of dollars for party headquarters nationwide.

“A ruling party that does not concern itself with raising money for quality education and healthcare, support to women and children, drug addiction programs, clean environments, and so many other ills of society, is a ruling party without heart,” he stated.

He contrasted this with what he described as unchanged daily struggles faced by Liberians despite rising national budgets and increased government expenditure. The opposition leader drew attention to the rally’s opulence, calling it a “parade of the newfound wealth that only two years ago, before assuming power, [the Unity Party] did not have.”

“We are confident that the Liberian people are watching,” Bility asserted. “They are taking stock. They are recording these actions in their hearts and minds. And at the appropriate time, in 2029, they will make a decision that will finally liberate this country.”

Bility framed his party’s role as an antidote to what he termed “jolly-jolly displays” and “shenanigans.”

“As the CMC watches these displays, we know that we must continue to focus on planning and executing an agenda that will bring about good governance and transparency,” he wrote, emphasizing his party’s commitment to “the welfare and transformation in the lives of the Liberian people.”

The statement concluded with a call for divine blessing on the nation and its people. The Unity Party has not yet issued a public response to these allegations. Political observers note that Bility’s comments signal an intensifying opposition narrative as Liberia moves toward the midpoint of the current administration’s term.
