-Amid Corruption Probe

By Jerromie S. Walters
The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) has imposed travel bans on high-profile figures—including former Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) chairpersons Edwina G. Zackpah and Maria Harrison, suspended NOCAL CEO Rustonlyn Suacoco Dennis, and Gbarpolu County Superintendent Sam K. Zinnah among others —amid widening investigations into multimillion-dollar fraud.
In a formal request to the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS), the LACC demanded immediate travel restrictions to prevent the suspects from fleeing as probes near indictment. A leaked memo reveals the commission is targeting officials from four key institutions: the LTA, the Liberia Refugee, Repatriation and Resettlement Commission (LRRRC), the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL), and Gbarpolu County’s controversial “Yellow Machine Scandal.”
Among those under scrutiny are suspended LTA acting chairman Abdullah Kamara, LRRRC Executive Director Patrick T. Worzie, and Humanitarian Director Jeroline Koleh, as well as NOCAL Comptroller Richmond Jallah. The Gbarpolu County case has ensnared Superintendent Zinnah and other local leaders in an alleged scheme involving misused public equipment funds.
