
Montreal, – Tamba A. Korkor, the General Secretary of the Liberian Community in Quebec (LCQ), has officially resigned from his position. In a letter addressed to LCQ Board Director Robertson G. Dorbor, Korkor expressed his gratitude to the community while stepping down.
Korkor thanked the board, supporters, and the broader Liberian community for their trust and collaboration during his tenure. “I present my compliments and wish to officially tender my resignation as General Secretary of the Liberian Community in Quebec, LCQ. I wish to thank you all for your continued support to the Liberian community in Quebec over time, and I am grateful for the working relationship and services to our respectable people in the community,” he stated.
He also extended appreciation to those who voted for him, acknowledging their confidence in his leadership.
“To all my supporters and fans out there who graciously turned out and cast their votes for me during the election, I say thank you so much for all and the confidence reposed in me to have served in said position,” Korkor wrote. No specific reason was given for his resignation, but Korkor concluded the letter with warm regards, signing off as “Former General Secretary Elect.”
The Liberian Community in Quebec is a nonprofit organization dedicated to uniting Liberians in the province, promoting cultural heritage, and supporting members through social and developmental initiatives. The body (LCQ) has yet to announce an interim replacement or next steps regarding the vacant position. Community members are awaiting further updates from the board.
