-Calls Accusations “Unreasonable and Absurd”
MONROVIA – Modern Development & Management Corporation (MDMC Express, Inc.), a leading fully Liberian-owned construction and development company, has firmly rejected allegations made by the Anti-Corruption and Public Integrity Agency (AREPT) that its recent distribution of a Christmas greetings card and company profile constituted an attempt at bribery.
In a press statement issued Monday, January 12, 2026, MDMC described the claim as “unfounded” and insisted that the gesture was a routine exchange of goodwill during the festive season, intended to greet partners and stakeholders for the New Year 2026.
MDMC emphasized that the company “values transparency and integrity in all engagements.” The greetings card and the MDMC Profile 2025–2026—a comprehensive document outlining the company’s services, projects, and corporate vision—were sent to more than 200 institutions and individuals selected randomly from its database.
“Our intention was purely to share festive season’s greetings and highlight our work, not to influence any decision,” the statement read. “It is both unreasonable and absurd that a simple act of seasonal courtesy is being maliciously misinterpreted by a credible public integrity institution.”
Established in 1986, MDMC is a category A-1 general road construction firm licensed by the Ministry of Public Works. The company has played a significant role in Liberia’s infrastructure development, with projects ranging from road construction and building development to ICT services, heavy equipment rental, and the production of official vehicle license plates and driver’s licenses for the Ministry of Transport.
MDMC’s portfolio includes major projects for clients such as the Monrovia City Corporation, the Ministry of Public Works, UN agencies, and international NGOs. The company operates an asphalt plant, rock crusher, and concrete batching plant in Mount Barclay, and is currently developing the Atlantic Ducor Hotel, a nine-story luxury hotel in Monrovia.

MDMC’s management expressed respect for AREPT’s mandate but urged the agency to reconsider its characterization of the company’s festive outreach.
“We respect AREPT’s work, but we believe this accusation misunderstands both our intent and common business courtesy,” the statement concluded.
