-Makes New Appointments

MONROVIA โ President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has announced a series of new government appointments and the immediate dissolution of several key institutional boards. The decisions, announced from the Executive Mansion on Tuesday, signal a continued effort to assert control and instill a new sense of direction within the government’s executive functions.
The presidential appointments, which are subject to confirmation by the Liberian Senate where applicable, target strategic positions across several agencies. The changes are headlined by the appointment of Mack C. Mulbah as the new Head of the Presidential Delivery Unit, a role critical to monitoring and ensuring the implementation of the administration’s key priorities.
Further strengthening the core executive, Varfin V. Donzo was appointed Assistant Minister of State without Portfolio. At the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Oliver S. Gbegbe takes on the role of Assistant Minister for Energy. In a move affecting state-owned enterprises, J.S.B. Theodore Momo, Jr. has been appointed Director General of the Bureau of State Enterprises, while Hanson Kiazolu is now the Director General of the National Bureau of Concessions.
In a parallel development signaling a broader restructuring, President Boakai has dissolved the Boards of Directors for three prominent institutions: the William V.S. Tubman University, the Central Agricultural Research Institute (CARI), and the Booker Washington Institute (BWI). The dissolution is effective immediately and is framed as a precursor to a full reconstitution of these governing bodies.
A statement from the Presidency clarified that all statutory members of the dissolved boards will retain their positions as mandated by the laws governing their appointments. However, during this interim period, the President has directed that the sector leader responsible for each institution will serve as the Acting Chairperson until new boards are formally appointed.
The President extended his gratitude to all outgoing board members for their “dedicated service and contributions to national development.”
