NIMBA COUNTY — Nimba County Superintendent, Kou Meapeh Gono has urged people of the county to use the just-celebrated National Unification Day to look beyond their political, social and ethnic differences and embrace the common identify that binds them together.

Fellow Citizens of Nimba,

Today, we join the rest of the nation in celebrating Unification Day—an occasion that goes beyond being a mere national holiday. It is a moment of deep reflection and renewed commitment to unity, peace, and national solidarity.

For us in Nimba, this day holds an even greater significance. On this very date in 1964, Nimba, alongside three other counties- Bong, Lofa and Grand Gedeh, was officially established. This historic milestone serves as a reminder of our journey, our resilience, and our shared responsibility to foster harmony, development, and inclusive progress for all.

Let this Unification Day inspire us to look beyond our differences—be it political, social, or ethnic—and embrace the common identity that binds us as Nimbaians and Liberians.

Together, let us recommit ourselves to building a stronger, more united county that contributes meaningfully to the growth of our beloved nation.
