Liberia former Finance Minister Mr. David Fahart says it does not matter who becomes House Speaker and Senate Pro Tempore on grounds that once elections is over the other side seen not to exist on the continent of Africa and in African’s politics.
According to him, African politics is different from Western Politics, noting western oppositions political parties becomes stronger when they are not in power
“I believed President elect Joseph N. Boakai knows what to do based on his experienced in government and the numbers of years he spent at the National Legislature mainly at the level of the Liberian Senate when he served as Vice President under former President Madam Ellen Johnson for twelve years” MrDavid Fahart is quoted as saying.
He revealed that the legislature does not have the political will and powers to Stoll the Executive Branch for functioning effectively on grounds that the president who is the head of the Executive Branch has the powers
The House of Representative is expected to go to the pull later today to elect new corps of leadership ranging from House Speaker and Deputy Speaker as the new government is expected to be inducted into office on the January 22nd, 2024.
The Speakership position is between Richard N. Koon of the Unity Party and J.Fornati Koff of soon to be opposition Coalition for Democratic Change.
Mr. David Fathat noted that comes what may the oppositions are going to dance to the tone of the president because he has the powers so there is no need for the Liberian people to be tearing themselves apart on who becomes Speaker of the House of Representative.
Both Unity Party and CDC candidates are expressed optimism of winning the Speakership position later today, Richard N. Koon, of the UP told a local radio station over the weekend that he is confidence of winner the speakership elections on grinds that he have about thirty-three (33), Lawmakers on his side while political pundits believes that CDC candidate J. FornatiKoffa have the numbers his side based on his support base.
The former Finance Minister is appealing to Liberians to rally around the incoming Unity Party government for the forward match of the country.
He lauded those Liberians who are carrying on the massive clean-up exercise across Monrovia and its envious ahead of the augural of the president elect Joseph N. Boakai on 22nd January. 2024
