Monrovia, Liberia – Minister of Youth and Sports Cornelia Kruah Togba announced a transformative “material cost waiver policy” at the Monrovia Vocational Training Center (MVTC) on her official Facebook page early Sunday.

This flagship TVET hub, run by the ministry, equips young Liberians and adults with practical skills for employment and independence—now free of material costs for hands-on sessions starting April 20.

Under the policy, students pay tuition only and skip buying supplies. Fees cover Electricity Trade Shop at LRD 26,000; Welding and Fabrication at LRD 22,240; General Automotive / Heavy Duty Mechanics at LRD 26,000; General Automotive / Auto Mechanics at LRD 22,240; General Automotive / Auto Electricity at LRD 22,240; and Carpentry at LRD 22,240.

Others are Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning (R&A) at LRD 26,000; Architectural Drafting (including Manual Drawing, AutoCAD, Revit, and Introduction to Computer) at LRD 26,000; Plumbing at LRD 22,000; Masonry at LRD 20,000; Graphic Arts at LRD 19,000; and Electronics at LRD 19,000.

MVTC seeks 1,500 more students this cycle. The 1,800 who passed the entrance exam and are on the waitlist can enroll by paying tuition. New hopefuls pay LRD 1,000 for the exam, then tuition upon passing. Payments due by April 17—visit the campus for info.
