NIMBA COUNTY, Liberia — The Special Presidential Yellow Machine Project Committee, in collaboration with the Office of the Nimba County Superintendent, has announced a practical interview and recruitment exercise for operators and technical personnel to manage heavy-duty equipment deployed to Nimba County under the government’s Yellow Machine Project.
The Nimba County Administration is inviting applicants, non-applicants, and other interested and qualified residents to participate in the recruitment exercise, which is scheduled to run from Monday, August 31, to Thursday, September 3, 2026.
The practical interview will be conducted at the CSE site in Ganta, adjacent to Vice President Jeremiah K. Koung’s farm junction.
The recruitment exercise is targeting qualified individuals with experience in operating excavators, dump trucks, front-end loaders, and other heavy-duty machinery. The exercise will also consider candidates with technical skills, including mechanics, electricians, and tire technicians, to support the operation and maintenance of the equipment.
According to the recruitment notice, the practical interview forms an essential part of the selection and qualification process. Candidates are therefore being encouraged to report to the designated venue on time and come prepared to demonstrate their technical knowledge and practical skills.
The Special Presidential Yellow Machine Project Committee and the Office of the Nimba County Superintendent have emphasized the importance of the exercise, urging qualified residents to take advantage of the opportunity.
The authorities further warned that failure to attend the in-person practical interview may result in disqualification from the recruitment process.
“Your punctual attendance and full cooperation are highly appreciated,” the recruitment notice stated.
Government Receives 285 Yellow Machines
The Government of Liberia has received the full fleet of 285 machines, comprising heavy-duty, service, and support equipment intended to improve road conditions and strengthen the country’s capacity to maintain and rehabilitate roads.
The deployment of the equipment is part of the government’s broader effort to address Liberia’s longstanding road infrastructure challenges, particularly in rural communities where poor road conditions continue to affect transportation, agriculture, trade, healthcare access, and the movement of people and goods.
The machines have already been deployed to several counties, including Grand Kru, River Gee, Maryland, Grand Bassa, Bong, Lofa, and Nimba, according to the project coordinating committee.
However, some counties are yet to receive their full allocation due to challenges associated with the completion of equipment hubs and transportation logistics.
A total of 19 equipment hubs are being constructed across Liberia’s 15 counties to provide locations where the machines can be housed, maintained, serviced, and managed.
The establishment of the hubs is expected to support the long-term sustainability of the Yellow Machine Project by ensuring that the equipment remains operational and is properly maintained rather than being deployed without adequate facilities for repairs and servicing.
Beyond road construction and rehabilitation, the Special Presidential Project Coordinating Committee says the Yellow Machine Project has the potential to generate significant employment opportunities for Liberians.
The committee estimates that the project could create between 500 and 1,200 employment opportunities across Liberia, particularly for heavy-equipment operators and technical workers such as mechanics, electricians, and tire technicians.
For Nimba County, the recruitment exercise therefore represents an opportunity for qualified residents with relevant experience to become involved in the operation and maintenance of the government’s newly deployed equipment.
The authorities are accordingly encouraging all qualified and interested residents to attend the practical interview during the scheduled period and comply with the requirements of the recruitment process.
The exercise is expected to contribute to the selection of competent personnel who will help ensure the effective operation, maintenance, and utilization of the Yellow Machines deployed to Nimba County.
