Monrovia, Liberia — Brace Institute of Technology has celebrated the successful completion of professional training for 48 graduates from both Certificate and Diploma programs at its 9th Graduation Ceremony, with calls for young professionals to transform their newly acquired skills and qualifications into meaningful opportunities.
The graduation ceremony, held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, brought together graduates, families, facilitators, institutional leaders, and guests to recognize the achievements of students who completed professional certificate and diploma programs in several career-focused disciplines.
Among the areas of study were Network Administration (N+), Human Resource Management, Computer Hardware, QuickBooks, Advanced Excel, Computer Fundamentals, and other professional skills programs designed to respond to practical workplace demands.
From Certificates to Opportunities
Delivering the keynote address under the theme “From Certificate to Impact: Turning Knowledge into Opportunities,” the Chief Executive Officer of Orphan Concern, Mr. Amos Hina-Sawboh, challenged the graduates to look beyond certificates and conventional employment.
Mr. Sawboh said professional success requires more than academic qualifications, urging the graduates to develop the character, discipline, creativity, determination and competence necessary to remain relevant in an increasingly competitive professional environment.
He encouraged the graduates to see their certificates as tools for creating opportunities rather than simply credentials for seeking employment.
“If employment opportunities do not exist, use the knowledge you have gained to create one,” Mr. Sawboh told the graduating class.»
His message placed particular emphasis on entrepreneurship, innovation and the practical application of professional knowledge as pathways through which graduates can contribute to Liberia’s workforce and economy.

The CEO of Brace Institute of Technology, Mr. Prince Naho Williams Droh, said the institution was established with a focus on developing professionals equipped with practical knowledge and skills capable of addressing real-world challenges.

Mr. Fatorma disclosed that students are required to maintain at least 80 percent attendance and class participation to qualify for graduation.

Representing the graduating class, graduate Maranda Blamo delivered the class address under the theme “Legacy Builders: Building Today, Imparting Tomorrow.”
Her speech challenged fellow graduates to view graduation not as the end of their professional journey, but as the beginning of a new responsibility to apply their knowledge, build networks, and create opportunities for others.
Blamo encouraged the graduates to deliberately collaborate on projects, share knowledge, and use their professional networks to develop initiatives that can create opportunities beyond themselves.
She also expressed appreciation to the management and training staff of Brace Institute of Technology for the support and learning environment provided throughout their studies.

NHA Announces 2026 Diaspora Conference in Washington, D.C.
MONROVIA, LIBERIA — The National Housing Authority (NHA) of Liberia is set to bring housing opportunities, diaspora investment, and national development into the spotlight as it prepares to participate in the 2026 Liberia Diaspora Annual Conference, scheduled for September 25–27, 2026, in Washington, D.C., United States of America.
Held under the theme “Building Decent & Affordable Homes for Liberians,” the conference is expected to provide a platform for high-level dialogue, strategic partnerships, and investment opportunities aimed at addressing Liberia’s housing needs while strengthening the contribution of Liberians in the diaspora to national development.
The conference, organized around the broader theme of People, Partnerships, Progress, will connect members of the Liberian diaspora with housing opportunities, investment prospects, and development initiatives through direct engagement with government officials and other key stakeholders.
A major highlight will be a Presidential Town Hall featuring His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., President of the Republic of Liberia, alongside key government officials and national leadership.
The engagement is expected to provide an opportunity for dialogue on Liberia’s development priorities and the role of diaspora participation in advancing the country’s transformation agenda.
Advancing Liberia’s Housing Agenda
At the center of the NHA’s participation is an ambitious housing agenda designed to expand access to decent and affordable homes while promoting sustainable housing development across Liberia.
The Authority has outlined four major targets:
600 new housing units through direct government support by 2029;
5,000 new and affordable housing units through public-private partnerships by 2029;
Construction of 16 Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) facilities in four slum communities in Monrovia; and
Development, delivery, and launch of Liberia’s first National Housing Information System (HIS).
These targets reflect the NHA’s stated commitment to expanding housing opportunities, strengthening partnerships, and improving access to housing-related information and services.
The Authority is also advancing housing-financing arrangements, including tripartite partnerships with local banks to establish housing mortgage opportunities for prospective homeowners.
