MONROVIA, Liberia– CEMENCO has announced plans to donate approximately US$22,000 worth of cancer medications and medical equipment to the Oncology Unit of the John F. Kennedy (JFK) Medical Center, reinforcing the company’s commitment to improving access to healthcare for vulnerable Liberians.

Speaking during an interview, the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Chairperson Victor Johnson Saah. disclosed that the donation is intended to ensure that cancer patients, particularly those who cannot afford treatment, receive essential medications free of charge.

According to him, CEMENCO has already completed the procurement process for most of the medicines, while medical equipment is expected to arrive in the country shortly.

“We have already procured the medications, and only one item remains outstanding. Once we receive confirmation that everything has arrived, we will officially present the donation to the JFK Oncology Unit,” he said.

The CSR Chairperson explained that the company is working closely with several pharmaceutical suppliers and biomedical service providers to ensure the timely delivery of the medications and equipment before the official handover.

He noted that the donation builds on an earlier contribution of US$4,000 made by CEMENCO to support cancer patients, adding that the company has significantly increased its investment this year by allocating between 30 and 40 percent of its Corporate Social Responsibility budget to healthcare initiatives.

“Cancer treatment is expensive, and many ordinary Liberians simply cannot afford it. Our goal is to support the country by making sure vulnerable patients have access to life-saving treatment at no cost,” he stated.

The company expects the donation to benefit a large number of cancer patients receiving treatment at JFK Medical Center, where demand for oncology services continues to grow.

Beyond healthcare, CEMENCO says it remains committed to supporting education, community development, and humanitarian initiatives as part of its broader corporate social responsibility program.
