Salala District, Bong County – The Office of Representative Moima Briggs Mensah has issued a strong rebuttal to recent comments made by Mr. Eddie D. Jarwolo, Executive Director of NAYMOTE, in which he labeled a legislative project in Salala District as a “joke.”

In a public statement, Rep. Mensah’s office described the remark as “deeply misleading, irresponsible, and damaging,” stressing that the claim undermines not only the ongoing development efforts in the district but also the integrity of civic advocacy.

According to the statement, the project criticized by Mr. Jarwolo represents just one component of a broader set of legislative initiatives being implemented throughout the district. “His post fails to provide full context and omits critical updates—despite the fact that these projects are public and verifiable,” the office stated, citing ongoing coordination with the Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment (LACE).

The response further expressed disappointment in Mr. Jarwolo’s conduct, particularly given his leadership role at NAYMOTE, an institution known for promoting democracy, civic education, and public accountability.

“We expect Mr. Jarwolo to operate with neutrality, professionalism, and a commitment to truth,” the statement continued. “Regrettably, his actions reflect the opposite—spreading misinformation and injecting political bias into public discourse.”

Rep. Mensah’s office emphasized its openness to scrutiny and encouraged the public, media, and civil society organizations to request information on any development initiative. “We remain ready and willing to provide documentation, photographs, and progress updates,” the office noted.

Addressing broader concerns raised by Mr. Jarwolo regarding the condition of police stations and court houses, the office clarified that such responsibilities fall under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Justice and the Judiciary—not the Legislature. Nevertheless, Rep. Mensah has taken steps to support these institutions, including the donation of land for the construction of a new courthouse.

The statement also hinted at possible political motives behind Mr. Jarwolo’s post, suggesting it may be linked to rumored ambitions for the 2029 elections. “While we will not respond to every politically driven attack, we urge Mr. Jarwolo to maintain the integrity of his role and avoid using NAYMOTE as a vehicle for political campaigning. However, the office called on all Liberians to prioritize truth and collaboration in national development efforts. “Let us work together in building our country on the foundation of facts, not misinformation and political posturing,” the statement concluded.

Meanwhile, In a recent post shared on Facebook, Eddie D. Jarwolo made claims regarding a legislative project in Bong County Electoral District #6, which is currently being executed by the Office of Hon. Moima Briggs Mensah. The project is funded by the Government of Liberia through the Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment (LACE).

This post has sparked concern and disappointment among the citizens of Bong County, particularly as Jarwolo has long been regarded as a credible voice in assessing governmental initiatives. Many residents expressed frustration upon learning that misleading information was being circulated, potentially clouding the public’s understanding of the project’s progress.

The ongoing project involves the reconstruction of the Salala Radio Station, which has been a long-standing goal for the people of Bong County. Photographs from the site, which are included in this article, demonstrate the active and ongoing work on the radio station’s completion.

Historical Background of the Project

The project was originally initiated during the tenure of former Representative Hon. Adam Bill Corneh. However, it remained incomplete until he was voted out of office in 2017. Since then, the current representative, Hon. Moima Briggs Mensah, has worked diligently to ensure the project is completed, benefiting the community with improved communication infrastructure.

In light of these facts, the citizens of Bong County Electoral District #6 are demanding a public apology from Mr. Jarwolo for his inaccurate claims and for misleading the public regarding the project’s progress and history.
