MONROVIA – A juror serving at the Temple of Justice collapsed and died Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the Civil Law Court “A” in Monrovia, according to an official announcement from the Judiciary Branch of Government.
The incident occurred at the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court of Montserrado County, after the juror had reportedly been granted an excuse. Report says the man, one of six trial jurors deliberating in a suit, had reported to court that morning but appeared unhealthy and complained of illness to court officials.
According to a statement from the judiciary, the presiding judge granted the juror permission to leave the courtroom and return home. However, before departing the courthouse, he entered a general restroom, where he suddenly collapsed.
Video shows emergency responders boarded the juror onto an ambulance and transported him to the John F. Kennedy Medical Center (JFK), where he was pronounced dead upon arrival, sources confirmed.
In a post Thursday evening, the Judiciary Branch expressed condolences, writing: “Words of condolence for a man who collapsed and is reportedly dead. He came to serve his country to work as a juror. Unfortunately, not feeling too well, informed the Judge in court and was granted permission to leave and go home. However, while on his way home, he decided to use the restroom and he slowly collapsed giving up his ghost.”
As of press time, the identity of the deceased juror had not been officially released.
