The Bong County lawmaker request to the Finance Ministry was contained in a letter addressed to House Speaker J. Fonati Koffa on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, during the 1st extraordinary Day sitting of the 1st Session of the House of Representatives of the 55th Legislature.

Rep. Kollie said the issue regarding civil servants’ welfare and benefits should be prioritized by the government and therefore, the plan needs to be known in line with the current draft fiscal budget.

The Houseโ€™s Committee on Lands, Mines, Energy, Natural Resources and Environment communication further requested the appearance of the Minister for him to address the De-harmonization issue raised by civil servants.

He emphasized that the welfare of government workers especially civil servants needs to be all concerned mostly lawmakers because they are directly representing the people across the country.

The Bong Legislatorโ€™s letter places specific emphasis on health workers something he described as national concern.

Following the reading of the communication, a motion was proffered by Nimba County District #2 Representative, Nyan Flomo to forward the letter to the Houseโ€™s joint committee on Ways, Means and Finance and Public Accounts and Expenditures to act promptly since the 2024 draft fiscal budget is undergoing scrutiny.
