Holy Record, an entertainment group in Liberia, has officially endorsed the reelection of President George Weah, as their lead artist donates $LD250,000 to accommodate the CDC campaign.

The group endorsed the president’s candidacy late Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the CDC headquarters in Congo Town, Liberia.

At the endorsement, Augustine Ford, the institution’s CEO hailed the government, and acknowledged its interest in protecting her citizens. According to him, the government is peaceful and will continuously be peaceful.

Accordingly, Franklin Edward Harris, known professionally as Kpantowho is a famous Liberian artist, and also the lead artist of the label, referenced the government’s peaceful attribute, and described it as a manifestation of true leadership. Kpanto is famous for his hit song “Bring our container back”, a song he made when the government was accused of embezzling $LD16 billion.

According to him, the government maturity in allowing him to live peacefully amid his controversial song, increased his admiration for the president and the government.

Amid criticism, he said the president has done a lot and must not he criticize for his little weaknesses. As an indication of his commitment to the president’s campaign, he donated $LD250,000 to the party.

In an acceptance speech, the Chairman of the CDC, Mulbah K. Morlu, described the gesture as a surprise to the party, and further hailed the artist.

He assured to turn the cash over to the President as it is intended for him, and termed it as a contribution of the entire street.

“This is the endorsement of the street people, I’m also a street person and I’m pround to have my President here.”The cash was turned over to the party’s Secretary General.

Due to the gesture and other commitments, the Party Chairman said he’s confident that they will win the pending elections in the first round.

From his end, the Party’s Secretary General characterized the donation as not what the party can do for her supporters, but what it supporters can do. He venerated the artist for the offer, and admonished other supporters to walk in said path.

Considering propaganda flagged by the opposition over the years, he termed the recent opposition as the weakest opposition he has experienced. With this, he believes the opposition community lack vision and plans for Liberians.

Furthermore, he believes the former Vice President is being used by officials of the Unity Party, to satisfy their personal aggrandizement.

This, he said, is pushed by the fact that they are desperate to return to state power.

With all these, he said the former Vice President wife is against the decision, as she has refused to join the UP campaign process.
