The three days events saw  the  development of a revised three-year strategic plan (2024-2027).

And the establishment of a committee to outlines and deliberate actions to be prioritized by the Government of Liberia in addressing issues faced by female security and women  law enforcement officers

The Liberia Female Law Enforcement Association (LIFLEA) was established on December 8, 2000, as the umbrella organization to protect and promote the interest and wellbeing of female law enforcement officers.

Over the past twenty-three years, LIFLEA has consistently worked with stakeholders to advance policy reforms and engage in continuous advocacy efforts with a focus on promotion and protection of the rights of women in law enforcement in Liberia.

In November 2021, IDLO extended support to LIFLEA in convening an annual retreat and General Assembly. As part of that activity, LIFLEA’s Constitution was amended, its three-year Strategic Plan was developed and a comprehensive three-year Action Plan formulated.

Based on outcomes from the event held in 2021, IDLO with support from INL extended support to LIFLEA through the implementation of the  “Strengthening Gender Equality in Liberia’s Security Sector”(SEGESS)-project.

The project among other things provides women in law enforcement opportunities to improve their skills and advance themselves professionally through capacity development interventions.
