MONROVIA, Liberia– The Liberia National Fire Service (LNFS) is intensifying efforts to improve emergency response and public safety across the country through a series of institutional reforms and expanded emergency services under the leadership of Director General G. Warsuwah Barvoul Sr.
The agency, which is responsible for firefighting and emergency response nationwide, has implemented measures to improve operational efficiency, enhance coordination, and reduce response times for fire outbreaks and other emergencies.
Officials say the ongoing initiatives are designed to strengthen the Service’s ability to respond quickly and effectively while ensuring greater protection for lives and property.
In a move to broaden its public safety mandate, the Liberia National Fire Service has also expanded its emergency medical response by providing ambulance services to citizens requiring urgent medical assistance. The service has become an important component of the agency’s emergency response operations, offering timely support during accidents and other life-threatening situations.
Under Director General Barvoul’s leadership, the institution has focused on promoting professionalism, accountability, and teamwork among its personnel. The administration has also prioritized staff development, merit-based performance, and capacity-building initiatives aimed at improving the skills and readiness of firefighters and emergency responders.
The Liberia National Fire Service says it remains committed to modernizing its operations and strengthening its nationwide emergency response system. The institution believes these efforts will enhance public confidence while enabling it to better fulfill its mandate of protecting lives, property, and communities throughout Liberia.
