
Cambridge, Massachusetts – Nyemadi D. Pearson, former Deputy Governor for Operations at the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL), is set to earn a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) from the Harvard Kennedy School on May 28, 2026. Her studies focus on Management, Leadership, and Decision-Making.
Pearson will join an elite group of distinguished Liberian women associated with Harvard Kennedy School, including former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Deconkee King-Sackie, Varbah Gaylor, and others.
A prominent Liberian corporate executive and banking professional, Pearson most recently served as the CBL’s Deputy Governor for Operations. She is widely recognized as a leader in both Liberia’s private and public sectors.
Appointed Acting Deputy Governor for Operations in June 2019, she oversaw banking operations, governance, and financial compliance. She formally stepped down after her resignation was accepted by President Joseph Boakai in August 2024.
Previously, Pearson served as Managing Director of the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) from 2018 to 2019. In that role, she led key infrastructure projects and implemented cost-cutting measures, earning public praise from political figures for her fiscal responsibility.
She also spent four years in leadership roles at ECOBANK Liberia Limited and held various institutional and administrative positions at the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL) and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
