Office of First Lady informs
Over 30 orphanages and various homes of the less fortunate in Montserrado County have benefited from huge consignments of assorted food supplies, a kind gesture of the Liberian First Lady, Madam Clar Marie Weah.
The distribution, being conducted by the Office of the First Lady, is aimed at assisting the underprivileged Liberians to celebrate the festive season joyously.
Speaking during the distribution, the First Lady’s Deputy Chief of Office Staff, James Kortu said that the First Lady as Mother of the Nation has always identified with Liberians, especially the underprivileged people.
Mr. Kortu noted that though the distribution was a routine of the Office of the First Lady as part of its regular support to the less fortunate, he said Mrs. Weah was particularly pleased to reach out and enable them to celebrate happily during Christmas and New Year festivities
Each of the orphanages and less fortunate homes received 10 of the 25kg bags of rice, vegetable oil, sardine, luncheon meat, sugar, milk, beans, and cornmeal among others.
According to Mr. Kortu, the first phase of the distribution which started earlier this week, covering only Montserrado has ended, while the next phase, expected to kick off shortly would target Grand Bassa, Nimba, Bomi, and Bong Counties.
