-In Bus Accident

A near-to-be tragedy struck the Liberian Upper Women’s League club, Senior Female Professionals over the weekend as the players were involved in a road accident while en route to Liberia from a pre-season camp in Guinea.
According to officials of the club, the incident occurred along the Lowla road, leaving several players injured, though no lives were lost.
“Senior Female Professionals was involved in a road accident, many players injured, no lives lost. The bus somersaulted several times, but it is a soothing relief that no lives were lost,” the club president, Emmett Stages Glassco told journalists in Monrovia.
Meanwhile, fans and followers of Liberian football have expressed their concern and offered prayers for the injured players’ speedy recovery. While the exact number of injured players and the extent of their injuries remains unclear, no death has been reported so far.
One club that which the team a speedy recovery was Shaita Angels Football Club of Careysburg City.
The club through its president, Benita Urey expressed shock over the sad incident, praising God that the incident did not involve the life of any player or the coaching crew.
She said, “Despite the terrifying news that the team bus of Senior Pro somersaulted several times before coming to a complete stop, we in Shaita Angels feel so relieved that no life was lost, as no amount of money, valuables or possession can compare to the loss of human life; hence, our thanks to God Almighty for his mercies and protection over all those who were involved in the auto crash.
“This incident calls for fervent prayers for our football clubs and other road users as they travel across the region to meet up with their different businesses. While praying against the re-occurrence of this ugly incident, our prayers and thoughts are with the management, staff, and players of the club and we wish the team a speedy recovery with a view of returning to the business of playing in the league, in good health and sound mind,” She said.
