Presidential hopeful Mr. Shiekh Mustapha Kuyateh has rejected war and any unconstitutional and violent means of acquiring states power and unseating the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) in the upcoming October 10 Presidential and legislative elections.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with this paper Thursday, June 1, 2023, in Monrovia said no to getting power through war and violence.
According to the newly accredited Liberia First Movement (LFM) standard bearer, violence has no good therefore, he and all well-meaning Liberians reject any form of violence and unconstitutional removal of government.
” If getting power through war and violence and unconstitutional means is the way I say no to that. We don’t suppose violence and war in this country. Violence has no good in our country and any Country. We say no to violence, war, and any undemocratic and unconstitutional action” Mr. Kuyateh noted.
Commenting on the vision of his party and his quest to contest the upcoming Election, Mr. Kuyateh said that he will be on the ballot in the upcoming elections.
He said that he will ensure that under his administration there will be the establishment of the War and Economic crimes court to laid the foundation for Justice and defeat impunity.
” We will ensure that the war and Economic crimes court is established. We will set the foundation for Justice in this country. We will make sure that all those indicated by the international community are prosecuted and will not take part in this election and election to come” Mr. Kuyateh stated.
Speaking briefly on the Vision and aspiration of the Liberia First Movement Party, he indicated that their party is interested in giving rights, liberty, and Justice to all Liberians regardless of their tribal background and Political affliction.
” We want to build a new Liberia where people will not be judged by tribal background but by the content of their character. We are here to remind Liberia that their party vision is to build a one Liberia, indivisible, Liberty and Justice for all. This is a Liberian people party” Mr. Kuyateh disclosed.
He said that their accreditation is not meant for Elections alone, but rather to give power to the ordinary people to execute their democratic rights.
” The certification of our party shows that we are of more ready to deliver an inclusive Liberia where independence and Justice will be for all. With this, we also see our path of patriotism and nationalism than tribal and party sentiment” he concluded.
