Little Jaclyn

A resident of Margibi County, Susana Toe, the mother of a three-year-old girl, Jaclyn, who risks losing both of her eyes to a strange ailment, has made an SOS call, seeking help for the plight of her child to be addressed medically.

According to family sources, it was recently discovered that three-year-old Jaclyn was being infected by a strange sickness, when she began agonizingly writhing in pain and crying excessively, while showing symptoms of fever, with her left eye being unusually reddish.

The three-year-old was immediately rushed to a prayer band for spiritual redress, but after two days, her condition became to worsen, according to family sources, who stated that after which she was taken to the JFK Medical Center, where doctors there have advised that medical work be done on the affected eyes to avoid a spillover to the right eye that would eventually lead to damaging her both eyes.

Jaclyn’s biological father has since absconded, abandoning the sick child and her mother, Women Voices newspaper has been reliably informed.

Doctors at JFK have charged US$250 for the treatment of little Jaclyn, but Women Voices has learnt that the ailing child’s family members are yet to raise such amount, are appealing to the Government of Liberia, humanitarian and philanthropic organizations, well-meaning Liberians, as well as kindhearted foreign nationals, to come to the aid of the three-year-old, to prevent her eyes from being damaged. Already, her left eye is at the moment badly affected.

Little Jaclyn has been having sleepless nights since she contracted the strange illness, while crying ceaselessly.

The 26-year-old mother of the ailing child has since been constrained to relocate from their home in the Cotton Tree Community, Margibi County to Monrovia, in search of help.
