-Pres. Boakai appoints Anthony Souh as Acting Director General of the LDEA as he accepts Peter’s resignation with immediate effect
Late Thursday, October 10, 2024, President Boakai has appointed Mr. Anthony Souh as Acting Director General of the LDEA.
An Executive Mansion release says the President has full confidence that Mr. Souh will execute his new role with the utmost commitment, loyalty, and dedication.
The President reaffirms his commitment to combatting the drug scourge and enhancing the operational capabilities of the LDEA.
The President suspended LDEA chiefs: Director General Mr. Abraham S. Kromah, Deputy Director General for Administration Mr. Gbawou Kowou, and Deputy Director General for Operations Mr. Hassan Fadiga without pay on June 3, 2024, pending an investigation into acts of disorder and chaos that occurred at the LDEA headquarters.
In the interim, President Boakai appointed Mr. Christopher Peters as Officer in Charge (OIC) of the LDEA while the investigation was ongoing. Peters, a highly trained security professional, was regarded as a strong candidate for the role.
However, Christopher Peters resigned from his position as OIC on Thursday, October 9, 2024, raising questions about the agency’s leadership during this transitional period.
