The Chief Executive Officer of the National Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Commission, Hon. George WK Yarngo, departed Liberia over the weekend to attend the prestigious Africa Water Week conference in Cairo, Egypt.
Hon. Yarngo is attending the event at the invitation of the African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW). The annual Africa Water Week brings together heads of WASH sectors from across the continent, as well as international partners, to address critical issues affecting water, sanitation, and hygiene in Africa.
During the conference, which will run from October 13 to 17, 2024, Hon. Yarngo is expected to deliver a presentation on the current progress and future direction of his leadership in Liberia’s WASH sector. His presentation will outline the strides made under his leadership and discuss the next steps for further strengthening the sector.
In addition to his presentation, Hon. Yarngo will use the platform to engage with key partners and colleagues in the WASH sector to explore potential collaboration opportunities and support for the continued development of Liberia’s WASH initiatives.
As part of the conference’s highlights, Hon. Yarngo is set to receive special recognition for his dedicated service and long-standing contributions to the advancement of the WASH sector in Liberia.
Africa Water Week remains one of the most prominent forums on the continent, bringing together policymakers, technical experts, and key stakeholders to find solutions to the challenges facing Africa’s WASH sector.
