Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti has firmly rejected allegations linking her to a $317 million drug trafficking scandal, confirming that the White House Situation Room reached out to her following the case’s emergence to discuss the investigation—a development she says has since prompted increased U.S. support for Liberia’s inquiry.
In a statement to the Ministry of Information, Nyanti condemned the accusations as “unprofessional, unpatriotic, unethical, unacceptable, misleading, and entirely false.” She asserted that the claims are a calculated attempt to discredit the ongoing probe and undermine her integrity.
The minister further argued that the allegations serve a broader agenda: to erode Liberia’s newly restored international standing and deflect attention from the country’s recent gains in building global partnerships and cooperation. She reaffirmed her full cooperation with investigators and called on the public to allow the legal process to proceed without prejudice.
