Monrovia – Former Vice President of Liberia, H.E. Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor, has extended fervent congratulations to Cllr. Charlyne M. Brumskine following her appointment as a Judge of the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice.
In a message released on Tuesday, Dr. Howard-Taylor described the appointment as “well-deserved” and a testament to Brumskine’s professional excellence, unwavering commitment to the rule of law, and years of dedicated service to justice.
“This prestigious appointment is a testament to your professional excellence, unwavering commitment to the rule of law, and years of dedicated service to justice,” Dr. Howard-Taylor stated. “It is also a proud moment for Liberia, as your selection reflects the confidence that the West African region has placed in your competence, integrity, and judicial acumen.”
The former Vice President expressed confidence that Brumskine would serve with fairness, independence, wisdom, and the highest standards of professionalism throughout her tenure at the regional court.
“As you assume this important regional responsibility, I am confident that you will serve with fairness, independence, wisdom, and the highest standards of professionalism,” Dr. Howard-Taylor said. “May your tenure strengthen the cause of justice, uphold the principles of human rights, and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of regional integration and the rule of law across the ECOWAS community.”
Dr. Howard-Taylor further noted that Brumskine’s achievement serves as an inspiration to young Liberians, particularly young women aspiring to leadership in the legal profession and public service.
“Your achievement is an inspiration to young Liberians—especially young women who aspire to leadership in the legal profession and public service,” she added. “May your journey continue to open doors for others and bring honor to our nation.”
Concluding her message, the former Vice President wished Brumskine every success in her distinguished assignment and offered prayers for wisdom, strength, and grace in the faithful discharge of her duties.

Brumskine’s appointment to the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice for the 2026–2030 term was endorsed alongside other regional appointments during the 96th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Council of Ministers. She is the daughter of the late Charles Walker Brumskine, a prominent Liberian political figure.
