Former Mayor of the Monrovia City Cooperation Jefferson Koijee says that solid waste was a major challenge in his administration, the solid waste division was facing the lack of budgetary support from the 54th National Legislature and the supporting power of citizens across the City.
Former Mayor Jefferson Koijee Mentioned that the president of the Republic of Liberia, President Joseph Boakai needs to give budgetary support to Mayor John Safia in Solid Waste management.
Former Mayor and Secretary General of the Coalition for Democratic Change Jefferson Koijee said the success of a clean city is budgetary support and citizen cooperation across the City.
He said being a mayor at the City Cooperation is a huge responsibility with a lot of challenges, so President Joseph Boakai should not undermine the current City Mayor through the lack of budgetary support.
According to him, Sanitation was one of the major tools in President Joseph Boakai’s platform, he stated should meet his agenda by giving needed support for the betterment of the city’s outlook.
Former Mayor Jefferson Koijee said, that Mayor John Safia is not going to perform a match to transform the City Government into good out-fit conductions.
However, Mr. Jefferson Koijee stated, that President Joseph Boakai’s campaign’s messages were based on Sanitation, the practical aspect for the president to perform is Sanitation at Monrovia City Cooperation.
He said the government needs to pay attention to the Mayor of the City Government for smooth operations, Mayor John Safia needs to be supported not by words, but rather by financial support.

The former Mayor of the City Government Jefferson Koijee Mentioned that, during his administration, he pouches six (6) Trucks and procures 12 trucks for the transportation of solid waste.
Mr. Jefferson Koijee told Mayor John Safia that hands are open for knowledge consultation for the success of the city government.
He also mentioned that he does not wish for the failure of Mayor John Safia, but rather to see the growth and improvement of the City Government, he said, he wants Mayor John Safia to be successful and systems to be in place but only a needed support for him to be successful.
