The Executive Director of the Liberia Crusaders for Peace (LCP) and Cultural Ambassador Juli Endee has called on parents to maintain immunization.

Ambassador Endee told parents that to maintain immunization is very important because it helps to empower the immune system of children.

She made these statement over the weekend  at the launched of the Novel Polio Vaccine 2 held at the Monrovia Christian Fellowship International, 9th Street Sinkor. The Ministry of Health along with national and international partners launched the Novel Polio Vaccine and about nine hundred thousand children between zero-54 months are expected to be vaccinated beginning March 26-29.

According to Ambassador Endee the Novel Polio Vaccine is safe, clean and the government has given similar vaccination for many years, emphasizing that the Novel Polio Vaccine is safe, free and good.

“Spend less to prevent and more to cure, so let prevent all these childhood diseases, which can be done through vaccination. This is why we are coming with to your door steps with this campaign so that you as parents can take action by taking your children to the nearest health facility for the vaccine”, she said.

She further that the polio campaign is in the 15 counties because it is a priority that is why they are working with county health teams just to make sure that the objective of the vaccine is achieved.

“We have our mobile moving stage with animators to give the messages out. Mobiliser are also there to give the messages to the people why the vaccinators are there to vaccinate the children,” she said.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Endee used the occasion to extent appreciation to the Ministry of Health, the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, the Global Alliance on Vaccine, UNICEF, USAID, Rotary Club of Liberia and other partners for the level of support they have given to the health sector.

She called on vaccinators to take note of the necessary Covid-19 health protocols as they go about with the vaccination exercise.
