-As Court Sentences Ex-Inter-Con Guard Crawford Tokpah to 50 Years

Monrovia, Liberia — A 12-member jury at Criminal Court “E” at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia has found 46-year-old former Inter-Con Security officer Crawford Tokpah guilty of statutory rape involving a 12-year-old girl, and he has been sentenced to 50 years in prison.
The verdict was delivered on Monday, September 14, 2026, following a trial that began with an indictment originally filed in 2022. According to the verdict form, 11 jurors voted “Guilty,” while one juror abstained.
The jurors were reportedly identified by their assigned numbers, including J30-10516, J30-10730, J30-10456, J30-10666, J30-10521, J30-10572, J30-10738, J30-10646, J30-10540, J30-10714, and J30-10598. Juror J30-1075 abstained.
State prosecutors successfully argued that between 2023 and 2024, Tokpah exploited his access to the minor—who lived in the same Mamba Point residence—by luring her into his room under the pretense of watching movies.
The prosecution’s case was built on a medical report from the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital and initial police investigative statements in which Tokpah reportedly confessed to the abuse.
