MONROVIA โ€” Bong County District #6 Representative Moima Briggs Mensah has urged young people aspiring to leadership to prioritize service, determination, commitment, and measurable results rather than relying solely on political support.

Speaking at a gathering, Rep. Mensah said effective leadership should be demonstrated through tangible achievements and service to the people who entrust leaders with their votes. She encouraged young leaders to build a legacy by showing the communities they serve what they have accomplished.

“Achieve something and show our youth: this is what I achieved; this is what I did,” Rep. Mensah emphasized, stressing that leadership should be connected to real work and community impact. According to the lawmaker, political leaders cannot expect everyone to vote for them, but consistent performance and dedication to the people can help earn public confidence. “Not everybody will vote for you, but you will always win based on your work,” she said.

Rep. Mensah further emphasized the importance of determination, commitment, and delivery in leadership, urging aspiring leaders not to abandon their goals when faced with challenges. She said leaders must also listen to the people, involve them in decision-making, and respect their contributions to community development.

“When you include people in your process, they will deliver,” she noted, highlighting public participation as an important part of effective leadership. The District #6 lawmaker also called on young people to remain strong and focused as they pursue leadership positions, noting that respect and honor are earned through one’s actions and service to society.

She urged aspiring leaders to build confidence among the people, work collectively, and ensure that their leadership produces visible results. Rep. Mensah maintained that leadership should not be measured simply by political positions, but by the positive impact leaders make in the lives of the people they represent.
