The disabled community comprising various organizations of persons living with disabilities on Thursday, November 9, 2023 appreciated president George Weah for his invaluable services over the last six years that has brought empowerment and upliftment of the community.

The liberate appreciation program which was held at the Steven A. Tolbert Field on the Japanese Freeway, also saw the disabled community through their actions endorsing the re-election bid of president George Weah; urging members of the community to vote in continuation

of the many contributions of the president’s tireless efforts in ensuring the empowerment of persons living with disabilities across the country.

Providing an overview, William B Yarseh

revealed that the appreciation by the person with disabilities is a great gratitude to president Weah for the recognition and empowerment of persons with disabilities.

He added that over the years, persons living with disabilities have been left to feed for their own empowerment in a space of little or no opportunity that resulted from the lack of adequate budgetary allotment to the national commission on disabilities to assist with the empowerment of the disabled community.

Yarseh noted that since the ascendancy of president George Weah, the disable community through the national commission on disabilities have received all available resources intended for the upliftment of disable people.

Adding that the Weah administration has brought an increase in the budgetary allotment of the commission from a little over 200,00us to half a million. Stating that said increase has empowered the disabled community and created several avenues that empower disabled persons.

Meanwhile, receiving the gifts of appreciation on behalf of the president, the minister of states and presidential affairs G Wesseh Blamo lauded the disabled community for their thoughtfulness to appreciate the president. He says the appreciation came at the most appropriate time.

He described the appreciation as the appreciation of one of the nine leopards who Jesus healed and only one came back.

In furtherance, minister Wesseh assured the disabled community that upon the re-election of president Weah, the president’s support to the disabled community will continue with a significant increase.

At the same time, the director of the national commission on disabilities, Dantowon Domah Pay-Bayee appreciated the community of disabilities for their efforts to recognize the president’s impact on the community.

The NCD commissioner stated that the long stay of disabled persons on the field to appreciate the president demonstrates their commitment to having president Weah re-elected.
