-New LNP Spokesperson vows to maintain mutual LNP-Media relations

Officially taking on the mantle of authority as the Spokesperson of the Liberian National Police (LNP), Madam Cecelia Clark has vowed to serve with patriotism and commitment to maintain an ardent image for the police, as well as public trust.

History halted on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, to venerate the shift in decades-long disparity, as the Liberian National Police (LNP) for the first time appointed and officially inducted a female as its Press and Public Affairs Director and official Spokesperson after sixty-eight years (1956).

At the official induction program on Wednesday, at the Liberian National Police (LNP) Headquarters, Madam Clark extolled the LNP through its IGN for selecting her among thousands while expressing gratitude and appreciation to God Almighty for what she terms as favor.

‘’I want to take this time to say things to God above all, LNP, IGP, and score of officer for the preferment and subsequent appointment of me as Unit 122 and official spokesperson of the LNP. This is not an incident. I hope to remain engaged with the media. I will do my best as a relates to media engagement. I will do my best to gain the public trust. I will do my best being proactively involved in all activities for the sole image of the police and our country as I take my office’’ she said.

On Wednesday, Police Inspector General Gregory Coleman at an elaborate program officially inducted and announced Madam Cecelia Clark, LNP spokesperson and Director of Press and Public Affairs, and Blessing Myres, Deputy.

Madam Clark is a Liberian journalist with several years of experience. Before coming to the position, she served as President of the Reporter Association of Liberia and Director of Television at State Run Radio (ELBC).

She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication from the University. in 2001, she graduated from the Liberian National Police Training Academy in Basic Police Training Course, Executive Protection Course (EPS) topping the class. Currently, she is a law student at the Louis Arthur Grime School of Law.

Officially inducting Madam Clark and her deputy in officer, IGP, Coleman said that after a vagarious exercise, they have carefully selected a new Press and Public Affairs team that will run the communication of the LNP over the next years.

‘’Our able Press and Public Affairs Director, Moses Carter has been released from his post after several years of service to the LNP and Liberia to bring in a new dynamic. We continue to push for women’s empowerment. We are pleased to announce and present to you, Madam Cecelia Clark, as our new Press and Public Affairs Director. Also, she will be assisted by Blessing Myers’’ he stated.

IG Coleman also disclosed that they will be guided by expertise from within and outside of the Police which include ex-spoke sons and consultants, urging for collaboration to enhance information discrimination to the public.

According to him, there is a Massive disinformation campaign against the government and the Liberian National Police that needs to be clarified to give the public a better and clearer picture regarding the actual happening.

Madam Clark’s induction was graced by several media professionals and former spokespersons of the LNP.
